There
has been a Post Office in Roade for almost one hundred
and fifty years; it has been situated in at least
three different places in the village but always in
the High Street. The front door step to the very first
one can still be seen to this day - it is built into
a wall along side the entrance to the car park of
the Roadhouse Restaurant.
The
current Post Office is now situated in what was for
very many years a Butcher's Shop. Our Post Office
provides virtually all of the services including car
tax etc., and now offers banking services to the villagers
since the loss of the Barclays branch.
