On track for charity at Roade Relay for Life

Roade School will be  hosting a second Relay For Life – A 20 hour fundraiser with a party atmosphere. Our challenge is to raise over £28,500 beating last years total.

Do you want to do your bit to help raise vital funds for Cancer Research UK?

Could you, and a team of friends or family, between you stay on the track for 20 hours?

The aim is to celebrate the lives of those who have survived cancer, remember those who have passed away and honour the courage of their loved ones.

Relay For Life brings together the whole community in one location for up to 24 hours.

Groups of 10 – 15 people are being sought to sign up for our challenge.

The teams are asked to raise funds in the lead up to the event.

On the day, team members take turns to walk, run, skip or crawl around a running track, for 20 hours, while a party goes on around them.

It really is a celebration, it is a big drive for Cancer Research UK.

The Northampton Relay for Life event will take place on Saturday 19th July & Sunday 20th July 2008 at Roade School Sports College.Stratford Rd Roade Northants

Relay For Life is a community based, volunteer led fundraising event which brings together cancer survivors, carers, supporters and the whole community. Every Relay lasts between 12-24 hours, always runs overnight and includes a Survivors' Lap of Honour and a tribute to those lost through cancer in a moving Candle of Hope Ceremony. Teams walk or run around a track and continue for 20 hours to reflect the fact that cancer never sleeps.
